March 25, 2015

Could we soon see weed shops on the Georgia map? After two years of trying to legalize marijuana, the state of Georgia has just passed a bill allowing certain forms of marijuana for medical use in curing disorders like cancer, seizures and sickle cell disease.

House Bill 1 still needs to be approved by the house before it becomes official. Voting on the bill could be done as soon as this Wednesday. The bill allows cannabis oil to be used to treat eight disorders in the chambers medical marijuana proposal: cancer, Crohn’s disease, Lou Gehrig’s disease, mitochondrial disease, multiple sclerosis, Parkinson’s disease, seizure disorders and sickle cell disease.

This oil would not be allowed to contain more than 5% THC. This oil must also include a high amount of CBD to ensure the quality and purity of the drug.
